Tiling the dining room floor
has been a challenge. Since a trim piece cannot be added to hide any gaps, the
logs act as a trim. In order to do this, each log must be chiseled to allow room
for the tile to slide under it. The room is 225 square feet (21 square meters).
Squaring up a room which is constructed
of logs has been a nightmare. It doesn’t help to know that the walls are not
even close to square. I basically eyeballed a straight line along a wall and
measured from there. So far I haven’t ran into any problems, but the tile has
not been installed yet. George
