Sunflower Stained Glass Panel 2 of 4

Panel 1 is mounted on the wall. Panel 2 is close to completion. So far so good. I'm enjoying the rainbow of colors and the positive feelings this project brings to our home. Can't wait to get Panel 3 on the board. Thanks for looking and please stay tuned...

Just a footnote: I was asked on Facebook, "What inspires me to do stained glass?" My reply, "Inspiration in this case came from a painting I purchased rights to. Often, I just use available patterns, but this project I wanted something different and challenging. Converting a painting to glass is difficult because of color variations. Shapes are a real challenge in that some shapes are impossible to do in glass. I quickly learned that compromise is the secret to success. After altering colors and shapes to make this painting work, I then needed to make the dimensions fit the framing in the wall. Some objects were stretched, shrunk, and even completely left out. This is what makes the work personal but inspired by the original artist. My main goal is to bring light and color into a somewhat dark environment and at the same time give the viewer a positive feeling as they enter and leave our home. I'm also using this project as a form of therapy to help ease the pain of losing my dogs. The work is dedicated to all the dogs I've had the honor of sharing my life with. I'm doing the best I can to honor their memory."
