I haven’t posted in a while, so here’s an update. Most of the heavy carpentry has been completed. The bath was framed and installed. Most of the interior walls have been constructed. The dust is slowly settling and it looks like it's my turn to do some work. I completed the tiling in the utility room and installed the floor heat. I’ll show more pictures when I tile the kitchen floor and describe how to install floor heat...a different way. Installation of the utility cabinet went very smooth. Tile and grout has been completed. I’ll install a decorative backsplash in a few weeks.

Framed bath with the tub installed |

Utility cabinet is installed. Measuring for the sink cutout. Kiley is inspecting my work. |
Tile and floor heat is installed. The floor still needs grout, colorant, and sealer. |
I added some paneling to the master toilet. The trim pieces are very expensive, so I made them with some scrap wood using a planer, tablesaw and a router. I still have another 90 feet to go. This project will take some time and I'll need the weather to improve before I can continue. |
A coat of water-based polyurethane will be added this weekend...I hope. |
The counter is ready for tile. |
Instead of waiting for the weather to improve, I decided to cut tile in the snow. It was -7C at the time this picture was taken. The tile saw water line froze a couple of times. |
Brrrrrrrrr, it's freezing out here! |
Tile and sink installed. It's time for plumbing. |
The cabinet face and doors will be added later along with a backsplash, paneling, and wallpaper. |

WOW! Our new bath! |
We love our new bath! The walls, floor and tub are insulated. It's nice and warm when it's freezing cold outside. I know it's luxurious, but it will be the last bath we ever own. Quite a change from the stone bath we used to have. |
The kitchen will soon be
getting my full attention. More on that later… George
